My name is Manon, I am a 59 year old French Canadian lady, who has been living in the UK for 7 years. I am separated from my husband and currently live with my 22year old son in a rented cottage. We are facing eviction at the end of August. At first I panicked, then decided that since I loved camping, I could just buy a campervan and live in it with my dog while travelling and discovering UK and Europe. I had no idea Vanlife was a thing! I am not really into social media and living in my bubble kicking my wounds. My decision is made now, I used some of my retirement money to finance a L4h2 Boxer conversion. It will be ready in mid-August. I am both excited and stressed about the whole thing. I cannot wait to start and wish to meet nice people, but at the same time I am a bit scared. I do try to see things in a positive way. At least, I will not have to pay rent, council taxes and electricity. Thanks to the initiative behind this group, it makes a difference to communicate with people in similar situations.

Sorry to hear about the separation and cottage but hey everything happens for a reason!
Once all the stress and worry about a complete change of lifestyle has passed you are going to love it I`m sure, it can take a few months to settle in to van life, there is always going to be problems but at the end of the day you will always overcome the problems in one way or another so try not to stress too much.
You are going to meet some of the friendliest people there are on your travels, the van life community is like a different breed, will always offer good advice and give help when required.
HURRY UP MID-AUGUST!!!
